Julius Axelrod Papers
The collection consists primarily of materials related to Axelrod's scientific career. The bulk of these materials consists of awards, laboratory notebooks, reprints, and photographs. The collection is especially stong in documenting Axelrod's receipt of the Nobel Prize in 1970. There is little correspondence.
Louis Sokoloff Papers
Dr. Louis Sokoloff was a neurochemical researcher who conducted and directed research projects at the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) for 50 years, most of that time as Chief of the Section (later Laboratory) of Cerebral Metabolism. He was best known for his use of PET imaging to examine chemical reactions in the brain.
