Central Surgical Association Archives
The Central Surgical Association (CSA) was originally organized by Dr. Roy D. McClure in 1940 in order to provide surgeons in the central states and Canada with a regional professional organization. The archives contain original documents, correspondence, proceedings, minutes, programs, photographs, membership information, and published material by members of the group.
William A. Altemeier Papers
Dr. Altemeier received his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati and was in the Department of Surgery at Cincinnati, 1940-78; he was Professor of Surgery and Chairman of the department, 1952-78. A sizable portion of the collection consists of correspondence. Includes letters from Christiaan Barnard, Lester Bryant, Stacey Day, Michael DeBakey, Warfield M. Firor, Steele Mattingly, Roy McClure, Jonathan E. Rhoads, Albert Wyss and Herbert E. Wyss.
