Series 2: Board of Directors

Material in the Board of Directors series originated from different sources. Some files belonged to presidents and other board members who frequently donated their files to the MLA while other materials originated in the headquarters office. Unfortunately, preliminary processing destroyed the provenance and organization of the material, making it impossible to reconstruct the file series. The processor constructed an artificial BOD series given the lack of original order and the large amount of duplication. The following materials were removed and placed into series: correspondence directed to the Board in general, minutes of board meetings, agendas for the board meetings and their accompanying background materials, Executive Committee correspondence, reports, and minutes, Management Review Committee minutes, and quarterly reports from the executive director. Agenda materials with minutes of board meetings stayed together.
