Scope and Contents

The Committee changed names in 1971 from the Awards Committee to the Honors and Awards Committee. Subcommittees for the Rittenhouse Award, the Gottlieb Prize Essay, Janet Doe Lectureship, the Ida and George Eliot Prize, and the Hafner Award merged with the Honors and Awards Committee in the same year.
