The Medical School Libraries Group was established in 1948. The Group's name changed to the Medical School Libraries Section in 1981. The 1972-75 files passed from chairman to chairman and each chairman incorporated the files into a common filing system. The processor separated the files to reflect the original provenance of each item. Williams' 1975 files include correspondence related to the history and functions of the group. Papers presented at the MLS session of the 1980 MLA conference are included in the 1980 files. Jeanne Mueller's files arrived in a large black notebook. The processor maintained her subject headings, but arranged them in alphabetical order.
