The collection consists primarily of articles authored or co-authored by Dr. Mannix, often including drafts and original versions of illustrations (1949-1970). Writings by others (1943-1973) include the John Alexander monograph series (1957-1959) whose introductions are authored by one of Mannix's colleagues, Cameron Haight, and a work on heart surgery (1963) inscribed to Dr. Mannix by author E. Economopoulos. There is some disparate biographical information.
