Scope and Contents

This series consists of two DVDs and one VHS videotape featuring two interviews with Axelrod and an NIH celebration in his honor. The videotape contains a biographical account of Axelrod's career, created by the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, while one DVD captures an oral history with Axelrod conducted by Dr. Marshall Nirenberg and Dr. Bernard Witkop. The interviews discuss Axelrod's career and his work in psychopharmacology and neuropharmacology.... Copies of both are part of the NLM general collection; the videotape can also be found at the following location WZ.100 VC no.75.57, and the DVD at WZ 100 VC no.270. The second DVD is a transfer from a 16 mm film of the NIH celebration held on the occasion of Axelrod's Nobel Prize in November 1970.
