Scope and Contents

The Correspondence series consists mostly of fan mail and inquiries from the general public regarding the mechanical heart implants performed by DeVries in the early 1980s. The rest of the series is comprised of personal correspondence, letters from prospective patients and their physicians, communications with the press and various professional organizations, and letters of recommendation authored by DeVries. The series is arranged alphabetically by folder title.
