The Correspondence sub-series consists mostly of letters between DeVries and various medical journals (particularly JAMA) on the status of submitted articles, suggested edits, and requests for submissions or collaborations. The sub-series also includes a DeVries-autographed leather binder, one of several he had made that he gave visiting colleagues with a copy of the JAMA issue inside. The DeVries Typescripts and Proofs sub-series consists of drafts of many of the articles found in the above series; it is also arranged alphabetically. The DeVries Speeches sub-series consists of drafts of lectures and testimonies DeVries gave along with miscellaneous notes. The sub-series is arranged alphabetically by title.
