Scope and Contents

From the Series:

The Henles' lab notebooks span their research work from 1963 to 1987. In these lab notebooks, the Henles recorded the raw data from their experiments. The queries directing their research and an analysis of their findings are often included in the notebooks. The notebooks came to the library in binders with different headings. While the binders have been removed for preservation reasons, the integrity of the notebooks has been maintained. The headings that appeared on the binders were diverse - some listing researchers' names, others subject names, and still others geographical locations of the studies.

To create organization in the collection, the notebooks were placed in boxes according to subject matter. Original binder headings have been preserved on the individual folders containing the notebooks. The box subject headings are as follows: Epstein-Barr Virus Associated Malignancies and Immunodeficiencies - General; Epstein-Barr Virus Associated Malignancies and Immunodeficiencies - Burkitts Lymphoma; Epstein-Barr Virus associated Malignancies and Immunodeficiencies -Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma; Epstein-Barr Virus Serology Studies; Herpes Studies; Infectious and Chronic Mononucleosis Studies; Miscellaneous Notebooks; Multiple Scoliosis Studies.
