Description

After exposing the poor conditions in Oklahoma's mental hospitals, Gorman wrote several series of articles on states and institutions that cared effectively for the mentally ill, and then did an investigation of child welfare services in Oklahoma. The Oklahoma Committee for Mental Hygiene reprinted these series as educational pamphlets, with the permission of the newspaper for which Gorman worked, the Daily Oklahoman.
