*Michael, a gay son, 1980
Scope and Contents
Produced by Bruce Glawson Productions. Written and directed by Bruce Glawson.
Michael, a young homosexual, has decided to reveal his homosexuality to his family. To prepare himself, he participates in a gay and lesbian support group that discusses how to deal with the negative responses that often result and the difficulty of gaining acceptance, even from people to whom one has always been close. He then attends a counselling session with his parents, his brother and sister, during which he hopes to be able to discuss their inability to accept him. The experience is a disappointment, with only his sister supporting his decision to come out, and leaving him with feelings of anger and rejection. Awards: American Film Festival, New York.
