Description

Freis retired from full time duties at Georgetown School of Medicine and the Veterans Administration Hospital in 1987, though he continued research and writing for many years after. To his surprise, he was honored with the first Stevo Julius Award from the International Society of Hypertension in 2000. His daughter Susan wrote this account of the occasion for their family and friends.
