Description
Soon after the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia moved from its outdated facilities in South Philadelphia to a new complex on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania in 1974, it named its new surgical center after Koop in honor of his more than 25 years as a pioneering and internationally acclaimed pediatric surgeon at the hospital.
