Description
At the height of McCarthyism and Cold War tensions, the American Association of Immunologists at its 1948 annual meeting passed this resolution protesting accusations of communist sympathies among scientists by the House Un-American Activities Committee. At the same meeting Heidelberger was elected president of the association.
