Labor Must Face Up to the Challenge of Mental Illness

Gorman spoke to members of the United Auto Workers in Detroit, Michigan about the productivity costs of mental illness, the reluctance of many workers to acknowledge the need for mental health care, and the reluctance of many insurers to cover such care. He recommended continued educational efforts so that workers and labor leaders would include mental health coverage in their bargaining efforts.
