Biographical / Historical
The New Orleans Marine Hospital was founded in 1801. Located on land known as the Foucher-DeBore Plantation, it became part of the newly-formed U.S. Public Health Service in 1912. As part of the PHS, The hospital was concerned with the health and protection of all Americans.
