Collection consists of a reprint of "The 'memoire sur les diff'erents genres d'asphyxie' of Doctor Jean Francois Coste" by Harold J. Abrahams and Marion B. Savin that has been inscribed by Dr. Abrahams to John B. Blake, who was chief of NLM's History of Medicine Division in 1968. Included is a photocopy of the original 1780 manuscript "Memoire sur les diff'erents genres d'asphyxie" by Jean Francois Coste.
