Historical Note

Begun as the Selmene Winter Foundation in 1922, the Child Research Council was formed upon reorganization and reincorporation in 1927. In 1928 it became affiliated with the University of Colorado School of Medicine. The Council conducted the first multidisciplinary longitudinal study of child growth, known as the "Denver study" which extended from the 1927 through 1966 and studied 334 subjects.
