Biographical Note

Born in Mississippi, Wiley Davis Forbus (1894-1976) received his medical degree from Johns Hopkins University in 1923. He served at Johns Hopkins as a pathologist and instructor in pathology until 1930 when he joined the Pathology Department at Duke University. Forbus was active in many pathology associations, including the American Association of Pathologists and Biologists and the National Board of Medical Examiners. In addition to Medicine in North... Carolina, Forbus authored General pathology for students of medicine, Granulomatous inflammation, and Reaction to injury and was associate editor of the journal Archives of Pathology.
