Biographical Note

Theodore Herman Jewett, 1815-1878, was educated at Bowdoin in his native Maine before learning medicine at Jefferson Medical College. In addition to his practice he was consulting surgeon to the Maine General Hospital and held a professorship in obstetrics and diseases of women and children at Bowdoin.
