Biographical Note

Though she did not marry William M. Mann until 1926, Lucile Mann used her late husband's expedition journals as well as the accounts of other members of the party to write this manuscript. In 1921 William M. Mann was Assistant Curator of Insects at the U.S. Natural History Museum. He served as assistant director of the Mulford trip.
