Biographical Note

Zhores A. Medvedev was born in the Soviet Union in 1925. He graduated from both the Timiriazev Academy of Agricultural Sciences and the Moscow Institute of Plant Physiology in 1950 and devoted himself to researching protein biosynthesis and the physiology of the aging process. He wrote accounts of deficiencies in Soviet scientific research and was stripped of his Soviet citizenship in 1973. He has since written several books and articles about biochemistry,... biology, the history of science and the history of the USSR.
