Biographical Note

De Laskie Miller was born in New York City and received his medical training at the Medical Institution of Geneva College. He practiced in Lockport, N.Y. and Flint, MI, before relocating to Chicago in 1852. From 1859 to 1889 he was professor of obstetrics and diseases of women and children at Rush Medical College. From 1888 until his death he served as president of Rush College's Board of Trustees.

Collection Summary

Consists largely of biographical data and minutes of meetings of the Genesee County (Michigan) Medical Society. Volume of minutes dates from 1841 to 1850; includes "fees for surgical operations." Collection also contains medical lecture tickets from Geneva Medical College and Albany Medical College.
