Biographical Note

Ardain Green Taylor (1803-1846) was born in Ludlow, Vermont. He attended Castleton (Vermont) Medical College and received his M.D. from Middlebury College. An ardent temperance worker, Taylor helped found Ludlow's Second Baptist Church, of which one tenet was total abstinence.
