John M. Eisenberg Papers
Eisenberg was a principal figure in health services research, and head of AHRQ, the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality. Materials cover Eisenberg's education at Princeton University and his careers at the University of Pennsylvania, Georgetown University, and AHRQ. The Collection is evenly divided between research and administrative materials used by Eisenberg in speeches, lectures, writings, and management responsibilities.

When John Shaw Billings left the Army in 1895 to become first a professor at the University of Pennsylvania and shortly thereafter the director of the New York Public Library, he took with him many of his personal and professional papers.

Jonathan Letterman Correspondence and Diary
Telegraph transcripts of military orders and directives sent and received by Letterman during his Civil War service. The diaries describe a trip from Fort Leavenworth to Fort Union, N.M. and back. Evidence indicates that the diary was not kept by Letterman.

Lawrence Kolb Papers
Dr. Lawrence Kolb was a pioneer in the medical approach to narcotics addiction treatment and in public health research and treatment of mental illness. He was one of the first to advocate treating drug addicts as patients, not criminals. The collection deals chiefly with the subjects of drug addiction, alcoholism, juvenile delinquency, and mental health.
