Two psychologists, Drs. Carl Rogers and Richard Farson, work with an intensive basic encounter group composed of eight previously unacquainted persons from various geographical areas of the United States. The first session of this group is highlighted. The group discusses ways to relate to one another and explores what it is like to be oneself. This is a look at the interaction in an unstructured encounter group, which provides a climate of maximum freedom for personal expression, exploration of feelings, and interpersonal communications.
