Biographical Note

John Austin Kerr received his medical degree from Northwestern University in 1924. He spent virtually his entire professional career, 1926-1965, as a staff member of the Rockefeller Foundation. His focus was the epidemiology of malaria and the implementation of malaria eradication programs.

Collection Summary

Contains reminiscences, dated November 11, 1974, of Kerr's experiences in Colombia studying yellow fever for the Rockefeller Foundation in its laboratories from 1932 to 1938. Photocopy of copy sent to Dr. Patino.
