Samuel S. Epstein devoted his career to the study and identification of carcinogenic mechanisms in industrial pollutants, pesticides, cosmetics, food, as well as the entire range of environmental contaminants. He used his knowledge and experience to warn the public of risk, to advocate for regulation, to encourage cancer prevention measures, and to serve as an expert witness on the public's behalf on issues of toxic contamination and disease.

Presentations, correspondence, event proceedings, speeches, writing, reports, research materials, briefing documents, meeting agendas, articles, and administrative materials document Dr. Collins’s public-facing work as the Director of the National Institutes of Health (NIH). A physician-geneticist, Dr. Collins took office as the 16th NIH Director on August 17, 2009 through December 19, 2021.

Sebrell was appointed director of the National Institutes of Health in 1950.

Health related material selected out of the larger Lister Hill collection, University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. The bulk of the material (76 reels) pertains to Hill's last 22 years in the Senate (1946-68). Topics include the Hill-Burton Act, Medicare, and assistance to hospitals serving minorities, the poor, and other underserved populations.

Dr. Dublin, vice president and statistician of the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company, was with that institution from 1909-52. A sizable portion of the collection consists of material relating to Dr. Dublin's publications.

The Medical Society of the District of Columbia (MSDC) is a professional advocacy organization for physicians practicing in and around the District of Columbia.

Subjects include family background, education, service in World War I and II, Dr. Bayne-Jones' association with the Johns Hopkins University Medical School, University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, Yale University School of Medicine, New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center, Tulane University School of Medicine, U. S. Army Surgeon General's Office, and the Department of Health, Education and Welfare.

Dr. Vernon E. Wilson (1915-1992) was a nationally known leader in medical education and an innovative administrator of medical programs in academia and government. Although the collection covers the years 1953 through 1981, the bulk of the records were created in the 1970s.
