Medical Illustration

Manuscript copy, with illustrations, of Medical adviser and domestic physician, published by John Williams in London, c.1820s. This copy was made by Clorion of New Harmony, Indiana in the fall of 1830.

Illustrations, photographs, negatives, slides, and correspondence document the artistic career of Howard Bartner, a NIH medical illustrator. The bulk of the collection includes pen and ink sketches, paintings, line drawings, and chalk illustrations.

Contains letters to the medical illustrator, Ambroise Tardieu, regarding changes to be made in the second edition of Rayer's Traite theoretique et pratique des maladies de la peau, 1835.
