Henry Nelson Harkins Papers
Dr. Henry Harkins was with the Department of Surgery, School of Medicine, University of Washington from 1947. The collection contains correspondence, biographical data, research studies, typescripts of talks and lectures, operative records and case reports, memoranda, diaries, reprints and printed matter, certificates and diplomas, and photographs.
John H. Gibbon Papers
Dr. John H. Gibbon invented the first artificial heart-lung machine and performed the first human open heart operation. The collection includes material on this subject as well as some biographical and genealogical data.

Valentine Mott Papers
From 1811 to 1834 Mott was in very extensive practice as a surgeon, and most successful as a teacher and operator at Columbia University and New York University. He also served on the board of the U.S. Sanitary Commission during the Civil War. He was on the founding faculty of the university medical college of New York (New York University School of Medicine).
