Series 1: Board of Trustees, 1967-1993

 Series

Scope and Contents

This series contains material generated for meetings of the Board of Trustees and by officers on the Board. Annual meetings of the Board are held in the spring, and are followed by an interim meeting in the fall; the Board's term begins at the annual meeting at which elections take place, and ends at the annual meeting in the following year. This series forms the core of the collection, containing records relating to all aspects of the ABA's operation, and documents the day-to-day operations of the ABA, the structural development of the organization, and issues of primary concern. The records of individual officers in many cases overlap with records in other series. Boyd W. Haynes Jr., for example, was Chairman of the Ad Hoc Committee on the Development of Burn Care Standards in the mid-1970s, and was Chairman of the Ad Hoc Advisory Committee to the Board of Trustees when changes to associate membership status were made.
