Series 7: Writings, 1936-2007

The Writings Series contains the numerous reprints, reports, and articles written by Lederberg and many of his colleagues. Originally created as a method of providing easy access to his varied writing projects, the organization scheme for the series consists of five sub-series: Published Writings (P Files), Unpublished Manuscripts (Q Files), Published Reports (R Files), Science and Man (SAM Files) and Temporary (T Files).

Each sub-series follows a numerical organizational system designed by Lederberg. Folders are assigned a designated number that usually relates to a specific subject. Document types included in the sub-series are publications, audio/video tapes, reports, speeches, photographs, reprints, manuscripts, peer reviews, correspondence, notes, transcripts, and articles.
